Longtime Youngstown, OH Godfather, Domenico S. Mallamo, aka Big Dom Mallamo. Mallamo ran the rackets in Youngstown for over 40 years and was semi retired by 1980. His nephew, Vincenzo "Brier Hill Jimmy" Prato assumed control of the rackets until his death in 1988.
Gambino mobster Dominick Curra was born in Calabria, Italy in 1945. He was at one point Dapper Don John Gotti's personal bookie and ran a big sports betting operation. When Curra, along with Kevin mcMahon and Charles Carneglia tried to sell fake art, they contacted a middle man. They were unaware the middle man had gone bad and had become a police informer. Curra went on the lam in Costa Rica but was eventually extradited to the US where he had to do 3 years in the can.
