14 Lovely Days: Day 2

Well, we've been living in the land of the crud all week and the last 2 days I've had all three home sick. Cabin fever is setting in! I tried really hard to keep the peace today. I let the boys pick their "territory". Sam chose my bedroom and Fulton chose the den. Ollie just roamed and took turns visiting his brothers in their territories. It was an interesting day to say the least. I'm just hoping everyone is well enough to go to school tomorrow. Any who... on to Day 2. My random act for…

Little Fingers and Toes

I'm not sure why, but I have a special love for little fingers and toes! They are precious, tiny things that should be celebrated! They are great for counting, kissing and, when they are clean, they are fun to nibble on! For every major holiday since his birth, Little Mister has made some sort of keepsake which involves his hands or feet being splattered with paint. I love it and it will continue to be a tradition around here for many years to come. (When he hits high school age, however, he…

Almost Unschoolers: Paper Plate Shark Craft

Paper Plate Shark Craft

Our craft today, started with D (age 8), fringing the edge of a folded paper plate, in triangles. Then folding them down, to make a shark's jaw. As he colored the outside gray, he was trying to figure out how to attach google eyes, without making the tooth-filled mouth, look like a crab, or too much like his monster mouth craft. Finally, he decided it needed a body. So, I cut a simple fish-like outline, from blue construction paper, while he worked on drawing, and cutting out, a small snack…
