Turkey-Neck, Maudie and Red Girl (left to right) are eating cracked corn in our barn on a snowy February afternoon. Our barn was built in 1869-1871 from timbers cut and marked at a sawmill (probably on the Delaware River) and hauled to its location in northern Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
