Monday Made-It: No Name Clip Board & Currently: July

I am so excited to be back linking up with Tara's Monday Made-It! This week, I have this to show off: The "No Name" Clip Board! I was inspired by this picture floating around Pinterest (I'm sure you have, too!): It comes from Mrs. Brown and her blog, Mrs. Brown's Blog. I thought it was the perfect way to address those papers that have no owner and cut down on my searching for him/her! About a month ago I got this idea to bring Facebook into my classroom. Is that weird? Actually . . . it's just the idea of Facebook status updates that I wanted to bring in. I would have had this up sooner but the poster maker was out of paper at one point and then I got really busy with grades and all sorts of other deadlines! Anyhow, I decided to create "classbook"! I got so excited about the idea that I launched right into creating a logo for it before I realized that I wouldn't even need…

TRAGEDY!

Most of my schools will be looking at the Olympics at some point this term. I am no great sportsman, so this is my contribution - the Ancient Greeks - tragedy and comedy. This term is all about 3d and sculpture. Times are hard and resources are hard to come by, so we are starting off with card. Based on the theatrical masks of Ancient Greece, the class chose tragic or comedic characters. Eyes and a mouth were cut from a folded piece of card, with the emphasis on symmetry and mood. A second…
