This is part of a series of interviews I'm doing with creative entrepreneurs who I find inspiring. I was curious to know how they incorporate healthy habits into their work + life blend. I figured you were probably curious too, so I'm taking one for the team and having great conversations with amazing bosses so I can share them here with you. (Hard work, right?!) My intention with these interviews is to showcase bosses NOT in the health and wellness industry and shine a light on their habits Wellness Industry, Hard Work, Healthy Habits, Incorporate, Intentions, Blend, Series

I’ve been hustling lately. Both my life hustle and my work hustle have been full speed ahead lately. I just got married and am in full-on honeymoon phase with my boo - going on mini-vacays almost every other weekend. I’ve been working on my first e-course based on how to use the five elements of Chinese medicine to boost your energy and fuel your own hustle. (I am seriously so excited about how awesome this is going to be!) I've cut back at my acupuncture practice so now the few days I'm Honeymoon Phase, Fifth Element, I Am The One, Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Working On Myself, Got Married, Hustle, Seriously

I recently finished Charles Duhigg’s book, The Power of Habit. It explains how some of our habits are more important than others. He calls them keystone habits. Keystone habits aren’t more important because the actions themselves are weighted more heavily in their influence. Keystone habits are more important because they create a cascade effect of other habits. By doing this one thing habitually, we often unknowingly can create other accompanying habits as a result. Obviously this can be Keystone Habits, Heavily, Cascade, Charles, Content, Result, Book, Create

A few years back I injured my neck. Bad. Like ended up with paralysis in my arm that had to be fixed in surgery bad. It stemmed from a lot of things: genetic predisposition, weak neck muscles, heavy overhead lifting with improper form, and a crap ton of shoveling. (Thanks Minnesota winters.) I’m not sure if it’s the time of year (hello summer solstice!) or the almost full moon (woo-woo bosses unite!) but a lot of my clients and patients have been dealing with some temporary insomnia. Even I’ve been waking before my alarm and tossing and turning a bit before falling back asleep. And for me, I know exactly what’s causing it: Light. Summer is officially here… And I'm reading to go tubing! But without fail, every year when I go tubing down the Cannon river, I almost always get a little sunburned. It doesn't seem to matter how many times I re-apply sunscreen, there's something about sitting in a tube for four hours on a lazy river under the sun that does it. (Surprise surprise) So, I figured this was a good time to share with you the natural remedies I commonly use when summer fun results in a painful sunburn. Last month I wrote a blog post for the Being Boss blog all about what to do if your clients are literally sucking the energy right out of you (aka: an energy vampire). That post has three actionable steps you can start using now with both existing and new clients. But I wanted to go a bit deeper, so in this scope, I dive into the Chinese medicine theory behind your energetic defenses and how you can strengthen them daily. If you know me at all, you probably know how much I hate juice/smoothie detoxes/cleanses. (Wait, you're a newbie here? Read my liver detox tips here then.) So you might be wondering why I'm currently on day 2 of a 21 Day Sugar Detox. See, I don't really even consider the 21DSD as a detox. I see it as a mental/emotional/physical shift in the way I eat.
