Jack Remembers: Master Cellist Janos Starker. Last week, Starker passed away at age 88. He left behind a legacy of unparalleled artistry and was recognized as one of the most celebrated cellists of his day, along with Piatigorsky and Rostropovich. He was a distinguished professor at Indiana University, and was famous for having over 150 recordings, including an album of Bach's 6 suites for solo cello for which he earned a Grammy.
