Here's a contemporary twist with fire bowls. These are getting hugely popular nowadays . Fire bowls are not cheap by any means and don't fit every landscape. We had a local concrete figurine place make us the bowls and the client acid stained them black. The burner is inserted into the bowl and all the fittings are incorporated into the pillars underneath. To turn on the flames , we put a hearth valve into the pillar and turn it on with a key then light it with a torch or longer lighter.
