From a home dweller’s perspective, floor performance can be thought of as a level of comfort. If someone is walking by you inside a brand new house, you might feel two effects coming from the floor: deflection, the up and down movement of the floor (which you might not even feel at all, if it’s an engineered wood or concrete floor), and vibration. If you’re like me, the less you feel of both of these effects, the more solid the floor feels and that has a pleasant, comfortable feeling.
