Nine Orchard on Instagram: "“When I’m in the Lower East side I love popping into Nine Orchard’s Swan Room for a cup of coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the evening. Originally built in 1912 this bank has been lovingly restored into a hotel and makes an architecture lover like myself swoon over every beautiful old world detail. Happy Monday.” — @girlintheyellowtaxinyc"

John Friia | All About NYC on Instagram: "Did you know there is a $500M art collection on 57th Street? It’s part of The Soloviev Foundation, formerly known as The Solow Foundation.

It was the collection of the late real estate developer Sheldon Solow, but also called New York’s Most Inaccessible Museum. That is because Sheldon found a tax loophole, which allowed him to label his collection as a non-profit foundation that had a purpose of being educational, charitable and for the public.

However, for more than 2 decades the gallery was never open to the public and they were only able to see his collection from a distance through windows with a glare. That tax loophole gave him millions of dollars in tax benefits.

After he died, the foundation had a name change and actually hosted tour Distance, Foundation, Windows, Millions Of Dollars, Real Estate Development
