Jacques Israel Artisan Buttons Paperweight

Jacques Israel (1889-1969) was a PA glass-worker and started making paperweight buttons in the 1940's. Born in Pittsburgh , he worked for 50 years as a glass blower making lab equipment and novelties. In the earlier 1940’s , at the suggestion he began making buttons . He was self taught . He stated he never advertised as he saw his buttons as a hobby. Most of glass buttons had a paperclip as a shank.
