The latest image of the Blackened Steel tiara sold in 2015
a possible image of one of the rare blackened steel tiaras made by Cartier, and worn her by Princess Olga of Yugoslavia, nee Greece. It has several strikingly similar features to the diamond Ivy blackened steel tiara seen lower on this board, and is possibly the one I saw at the Cartier exhibition at the British Museum last century
At long last, another of Cartier's blackened steel tiaras has come to the fore. The main body of the piece is blackened steel, with a double row of diamonds forming a scalloped top, small palmette motifs set on the diamond base. Made by Cartier, Paris, 1912
