President of the Philippines, Ferdinand E. Marcos. He was Senate President during President Macapagal tenure. He was drafted by the Nacionalista Party to be their standard bearer against Liberal Party’s President Macapagal. He won and got re-elected again in 1969. Before the expiration of his second four-Year term, he declared Martial Law in September 1972 remaining in power until the bloodless People Power Revolt in February 1986 ousting him from power.
Carlos Garcia (1957-1961) was the Vice President under President Magsaysay. When the latter died in a plane crash at Mount Manungal in Cebu, he took over the reign of government. He got elected as President during 1957 election defeating Jose Yulo of the Liberal Party.
Elpidio Quirino (1948-1953) was the Vice President under President Manuel Roxas. When the latter died before completing his presidency, his Vice President took over the position. President Elpidio Quirino was re-elected for another 4 years. He was the second elected President after the war.
