Italy circa: late 17th Century Straight, double-edged blade of hexagonal section, a fuller at the forte, marked "TOMAS / AIALA". Fine, shell decorated with pierced and chiselled racemes; quillon-block with chiselled acanthus leaves; quillon with small arms, twisted guard and parry quillon; fuse-shaped grip with fretwork and pierced acanthus leaves and flowers; spheroidal pommel, twisted en suite with the rest of the decoration. Over all length 41 inches.
