Memphis war eine Design-Gruppe, die 1981 von Ettore Sottsass gemeinsam mit Architekten und Gestaltern in Mailand gegründet wurde. Der Name stammt aus einem Song von Bob Dylan: "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again" lief während des Gründungstreffens in Dauerschleife. Memphis-Design war die Antwort auf die funktionale Formensprache der Modernisten und den Minimalismus der Siebzigerjahre.

Ettore Sottsass one of Seven Greek Chairs Grey Bieffeplast, Italy, 1980. Light grey chairs made from lacquered tubular steel and plastic seat and backrest. They are labeled Bieffeplast. 4 pieces are in very good condition with no issues besides wear of aging and minimal scratches; 3 chairs have small issues that do not limit their function or beauty; 2 chairs have chips at one side, another one shows a crack at the far end of the seat that does not limit the comfort. Sold and priced per piece.
