Crocus.co.uk on Instagram: "🌿 How to get the best herbs 🌿 Are your herbs not performing or simply wilting away? It could be that they’re not planted with the best herbal partners. Some herbs don’t go together, so note what to avoid. ⛔ Dill attracts pests that are harmful to lavender. ⛔ Sage and basil will damage and inhabit each other’s growth ⛔ Fennel can change the flavour of herbs, so keep it on its own. Herbs with similar moisture, pH and light levels do best together, so here are some of our favourite combinations. 🌿 The Lamiaceae family Lamiaceae herbs do well together, including oregano, thyme, sage, and lavender. You can also add rosemary and marjoram, as they are also more tolerant of heat and drought. 🌿 The Apiaceae family Dill, coriander and parsley all fall into the Ap
Waste Free Planet | Zero Waste on Instagram: "How to grow turmeric & ginger 🙌 Repost • @fromsoiltosoul You’ll get a heavy ginger & turmeric harvest come Fall 🌱🌱 Full growing guide for Northern gardeners looking to try out these tropical plants over at fromsoiltosoul.ca, linked in bio! The most commonly asked question I get on this blog post is where to source organic ginger/turmeric rhizomes. I’ve yet to find a Canadian supplier unfortunately (if you know of one please comment!) so I find mine at our local health food store but there’s many comments on this blog from gardeners who get theirs from their Asian food markets. So definitely lots of options! #gardengoals#plantyourownfood#getgrowing#greenhousegoals#vegetablegrowing#vegetablegardening#fromseed#growtoeat #permaculturegarden

Patrick Vernuccio on Instagram: "Learn about the Magic of Borage 🌿 A must-have in your garden, it has so many benefits 💚 I fell in love with Borage, the plant is beautiful and I love seeing pollinators enjoying its flowers. But it’s not only pleasing the bees or the eyes of the gardener, you can use it as a great companion plant repelling pests. That’s why I planted my strawberries all around and since then, they are super productive but the flavor of strawberries is also very fruity & juicy. Borage is also key for your soil. It is a great accumulator of Potassium but will also contain nutrients, making it available for other plants. You can also use it as Green Manure, a simple chop & drop will feed your soil. And this flower is edible! Use it in your recipes as decorations, yo
Patrick Vernuccio on Instagram: "Grow infinite Mint in pots with this easy technique 🌿 It’s extremely easy to multiply your mint from just one plant 💚 By making cutting, you can easily propagate them in water. I usually change the water every 2/3 days and in about 10 days, the mint cuttings will already develop new roots. Having an abundance of Mint also means to harvest it correctly. I’m showing you how to do this in this Reel ✂️🌿 One piece of advice, avoid planting Mint in your garden or it can invade the whole garden so quickly. It’s better to contain its growth in pots & containers. To replant one mint stem, choose a small pot below 1 Gallon / 1,5L. To replant the full mint plant that you bought, choose a pot of minimum 10L / 3 Gallon. FYI, this video is from my previous balc
