Giancarlo Giuseppe Alessandro Esposito was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, to an Italian carpenter/stagehand father from Naples and an opera-singing African-American mother from Alabama. He grew up in Manhattan. He played Agent Mike Giardello in the TV series Homicide: Life on the Street (1993) in 1998. I chose him to play Macduff because of his previous roles of characters meant to stop and hurt the protagonist.
