Topaz's broad color range allows for cultural preferences for different hues. Europeans are fond of yellows. Consumers in eastern Asia like pinks and reds. People in the US buy topaz of all colors, but favor blues. - Courtesy Pala International. GIA (110514)
Single Alexandrite. Top precision cutting and proportions with excellent clarity and an exceptional color change. Unlike alexandrites from other deposits, the best Brazilian alexandrites are blue in daylight. Slightly darker stones like this one are considered to be more valuable because of their strong color change. A lighter toned stone would never show such a prominent change.
