Batalla de Carras,Marco Licinio Craso vencedor de la rebelión de Espartaco se lanza a la conquista del imperio Parto en el año 53 a.C con más de 30.000 hombres con el resultado fatal de 20.000 romanos muertos y 10.000 prisioneros,Craso tras la batalla donde perdió a su hijo intenta dialogar con el emperador Persa y es ejecutado en el campamento del comandante Surena dónde según algunas crónicas le introducen oro fundido en la garganta por su avaricia.

After the battle of Carrhae 53 BC. This was an important battle between the Parthian Empire and the Roman Republic, it was fought near the town of Carrhae, in 53 BC. The Parthian Spahbod Surena decisively defeated a superior Roman invasion force, led by Marcus Licinius Crassus. Carrhae Harran was a major ancient city in Upper Mesopotamia whose site is near the modern village of Altınbaşak, Turkey, 24 miles southeast of Şanlıurfa (ancient Edessa).
