On September 25, 1956, the piece debuted at the Teatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro. Back and forth between Paris, Vinicius was able to assemble greats of Brazilian culture: Oscar Niemeyer (Scenic Design), Carlos SCLIAR Djanira (Poster Art), the Black Experimental Theater of Abdias Nascimento provided actors for the cast. It was the first time in the history of the Teatro Municipal that black actors stepped on her stage.
