Growing your Ficus Bonsai  Ficus bonsai are ideally suited for indoor bonsai.  Watering  Ficus bonsai, as with most bonsai, like to dry out between waterings.  Light  Ficus bonsai grow well in either direct or indirect sunlight.   We prefer to grow Ficus in shady areas. Ficus Religiosa cutting (peepal tree) rooting in water, for mini / mame bonsai, in a root-over-rock style. I am planning to encourage it's vigorous roots to grip the stone and flow down along it. I will keep it in water for some more time, changing water once a week, as root growth is much better in water.
