It started with a layout board. A pre-printed board with non-reproductive blue lines…which meant a stat camera wouldn’t see the lines when shooting Photostats. These were then pasted on more layout boards, to be shot again into film, that would be turned into a printing plate to print a magazine, poster, or flyer.
I miss the social aspect of the stat camera. The darkroom was a civilized escape from the office/studio hubub, a dark, fun oasis. As a young, unattached rake back-in-the-day) the alluring possibility of getting to spend some time in the darkroom with a cute new colleague - showing her the ropes, as it were. ;-)
