Canvey Island - The Labworth Poster on Behance

Canvey Island, Essex, England, 1930s. The village looking east. The Red Cow (now the King Canute) public house on the left, the thatched-roof water pump can just be seen on the right and the building in the middle is still standing today.

I have an electric kettle but this Flower Market Enamel 3 Quart Tea Kettle makes me want to go back to the stove method.

One of two octagonal Dutch cottages (built for Dutch workers) from the 17th century which are preserved on Canvey Island. This cottage now functions as a museum. Canvey Island is a civil parish and reclaimed island in the Thames estuary in England. It is separated from the mainland of south Essex by a network of creeks. Lying only just above sea level it is prone to flooding at exceptional tides, but has nevertheless been inhabited since the Roman invasion of Britain.
