1890. The first distillery was built at the San Antonio Sugar Mill in Chichigalpa, Nicaragua in 1890. Back then the young rums were the drink of choice for celebrating the the sugar cane harvest, with limited quantities of better tasting "aged" rums reserved for and savored by the proprietors of the mill. Founded by Francisco Alfredo Pellas the company is led today by the Pellas family's fifth generation.

The city of Chichigalpa is known for its factories, one of which is the San Antonio sugar mill and factory Ron Flor de Caña we visit. Worldwide it is known as one of the best rums available. We offer you the opportunity to visit the rum factory and learn about the process of rum. The tour includes visits to the Dome of rum (Slow Aged), a barrel of rum, Operational Area, Video Presentation, Introduction and sample the rum tasting and finally Rumelier Museum / Bar & Gift-Shop Flor de Caña.
