Another unusual windmill was Moreton post mill in Essex, known as a "six footer" it had three cross trees and six quarter bars supporting the main post, rather than the usual two and four, similar mills could be found in the Chilterns, of which Chinnor post mill, Oxfordshire has recently been restored. Moreton mill, although preserved, was sadly allowed to fall into disrepair and was demolished in the 1960s.
Bledlow Ridge post mill, Buckinghamshire. Demolished 1933. This was one of several post mills in the area with a trestle of three cross trees (horizontal timbers) and six quarter bars (diagonal supports) for the main post rather than the usual two and four. A similar mill at Chinnor, just over the border in Oxfordshire, has been restored. Moreton mill in Essex, demolished in 1964 was another.
