Fernet Branca "The Brown Stuff" is a bitter, aromatic spirit from Italy aged at least 1 year in oak barrels. Invented in Milan in 1845 by the Italian Maria Scala Branca, Originally as a stomach medicine. The Fratelli Branca Distillery produces the drink according to a secret recipe with 27 herbs from five continents, including aloe from South Africa, rhubarb from China, gentian from France, galangal from India or Sri Lanka, chamomile from Italy and Argentina, saffron, myrrh and elderflower.
Barrel-Aging Beer. Fernet Aged Porter is a totally unique collaboration between the Odell Brewing Company and Leopold Brothers Distillery. It's a big porter (clocking in at 9.8%) with 50% of the beer aged in Fernet barrels. Fernet is an aromatic liqueur that with an interesting range of herbs and spices that is quite popular in Argentina.
