Only four issues of the journal were published, the first three of which were printed in Godalming, a small market town in Surrey near the Canadian training areas. The irreverence of some of the humour is demonstrated in a line from the first issue: ‘The tailor that pegged The Sergeant-Major’s breeches must have been the composer of “They’re wearing them higher in Hawaii!”’
