Rushton Hall, Rushton, Northamptonshire, Grade I listed; ancestral home of the Tresham family from 1438, when William Tresham bought the estate, Attorney General to King Henry V + Speaker of the House of Commons, he was murdered in 1450. His grandson, Francis, was involved in the Gunpowder Plot and died in the Tower of London in 1605. Passing through several hands it was let to an array of tenants incl. American socialite James J. Van Alen.
