Loose meat sandwich..yum yum yum..nothing like a maid-rite! My Aunt Kathryn Herman Holst owned and operated the little Maid-Rite in Belle Plaine, IA before it closed down. Used to buy penny candy there when I was a child while staying with my cousins.

Maid-Rite is one of the first fast food franchises in the United States starting in Muscatine, Iowa in 1926. By the end of the 20's there were four restaurants, all of which are still open.
