In June1876, on the plains of eastern Montana Territory, the infamous Indian fighter General George Crook and 1,300 troops, including 261 Crow and Shodhoni scouts clashed with 1,500 Sioux, Cheyenne, and Arapaho that included inspiring warrior Crazy Horse. The Battle of the Rosebud became a ferocious six-hour fight. The Battle of the Rosebud was fought just eight days before and a few dozen miles from the Battle of the Little Bighorn.
