Emile Vernon was born in Blois, France in 1872 and died at the young age of 48 in 1919. He studied painting under the French genre artist Auguste Joseph Trupheme (1836-1898). He was a painter of portraits, figures, still lifE, landscapes, flowers and fruits. He lived in both Paris and London. His most sought after paintings are those of beautiful women and children. He was initially a student at the School of Fine Arts in Tours where he won the first prize for design.
