Making predictions in a story is such an important element of imagination and comprehension for a student. I have seen this in my internship where students will give ideas in a large group reading what they will believe will happen in the story.

A prediction is a guess based off text, pictures, and own ideas  Bottom half-We can make predictions before and during reading and say "I know --, so I predict --"

Making predictions is a great strategy to use for comprehension of narrative texts. Predicting allows students to draw on background knowledge, supply details, and determine whether their prediction was correct at the end of the passage.
