Vietnam War Medical KIA - 1st Lt. Hedwig Diane Orlowski (April 13, 1944 - November 30, 1967), an Army nurse stationed at the 67th Evacuation Hospital, in Qui Nhon, had been sent to a hospital in Pleiku to help out during a push. With her when the plane crashed on the return trip to Qui Nhon were three other nurses, Eleanor Grace Alexander, Jerome E. Olmstead, and Kenneth R. Shoemaker. Eleanor Grace Alexander (September 18, 1940 - November 30, 1967), an Army nurse stationed at the 85th Evacuation Hospital in Qui Nhon, had been sent to a hospital in Pleiku to help out during a push. With her when the plane crashed on the return trip to Qui Nhon were three other nurses, Hedwig Diane Orlowski, Jerome E. Olmstead, and Kenneth R. Shoemaker. Alexander was 27. I was at Qui Nhon for a while. There was some heavy fighting there at times.
