I swear one day I'm gonna leave this town. I'm going to go to a new world. I'm not going to be captured in a room with people I despise. I' ll leave this town and no I will not miss you.

Carol's Ringwood Hat Knitting Pattern

Project Description: This wonderfully textured, thick and stretchy hat features baby cable ribbing on the tubular brim. The stitch pattern on the hat is called ‘Ringwood’ after the town of Ringwood, Hampshire, UK, in which Victorian gloves were hand knit by the residents using this stitch pattern and sold commercially until the mid-20th century. The waffle-like texture is interesting visually and makes a nice thick, stretchy hat! Written for two sizes and for two styles, slouchy or beanie…

Cabins at the Weis Ecology Center/Camp Midvale in Ringwood, NJ. This three-story brick dormitory building, built in 1931 by the Nature Friends, a forerunner of today’s ecology movement, is currently vacant and facing demolition after it was abandoned by the NJ Audubon Society. The property, including rustic cabins and other outbuildings, is now owned by the NJ DEP, which has no interest in maintaining the site’s buildings. Discover more @ Photo by Karin Adamietz Ahmed
