Exhibit Explores The Sexier Side Of High-Tech Fashion
‘Smoke Dress’ 2012 - is a collaboration between fashion designer Anouk Wipprecht and technologist Aduen Darriba. The dress is a tangible couture “smoke screen imbued with the ability to suddenly visually obliterate itself through the excretion of a cloud of smoke. Ambient clouds of smoke are created when the dress detects a visitor approaching, thus camouflaging itself within its own materiality.
SMOKIN'!!! - Marine Blake Miller - dubbed the "MARLBORO MAN" - The battle-weary Marine with a cigarette dangling from his mouth. Miller's face was smeared with soot and sand and blood and war paint, none of which could camouflage his bewilderment and exhaustion. Artist Wally Zuber was inspired to paint the Marlboro Man and sent the finished product to Miller's Mom and Grandparents as a gift. You will also notice Miller's close up tattoed on Wally's arm.
