Animal Architects/ European Red Wood Ants: Build their anthills in huge mounds on forest floors. The colony will often build several mounds, interconnected with the main hill, and would move to the adjacent mounds if the main one is damaged beyond repair.
A Four spotted leaf beetle - Clytra 4-punctata (Chrysomelidae) | Not a beetle that I see all that often. I think the only other time I have found one was at Blean Woods Canterbury, about 4 or 5 years ago. The larvae are scavengers in the nests of wood ants, of which there are plenty locally.
