Programme for Belize’s ( PFB ) two eco-tourism sites on the Rio Bravo Conservation and Management Area offer an exceptional forest experience which combines visitation with environmental education. The quality of PFB’s forest experience is enhanced by our team of dedicated naturalists. Activities at these sites include archeology, birding, hiking, night-spotting, canoeing and even an introduction to local culture through visits to neighboring communities.
Heliconias are tropical plants related to bananas, cannas and gingers. There are about 100 different individual species, and most species then have a large number of hybrids and cultivars, with flower styles varying significantly from the original. This plant is found at the Rio Bravo Conservation and Management Area (RBCMA), a private conservation area owned and held in trust for the people of Belize by Programme for Belize (PfB).
