Country Teal French Provincial Bedroom Set – Tuesday’s Treasures

Happy week of the end of Daylight Savings Time. If you are like me with young kids, you may want to start protesting the idea of this whole time change thing. Why in the world do we need to change the clocks back and forth twice a year?? Seriously?? I understand that farmers needing more light back in the days without electricity or something like that, but is it really still necessary? One hour of extra sleep on Saturday night sounds like a great plan, until Monday morning comes and at…

Burbank Blue and White Dresser Set – Tuesday’s Treasures

Hi Friends! If you’re one of our Facebook fans, you’ll see that I’ve been a little MIA this week. I’ve been fighting a nasty cold. It’s still going strong over 10 days later. I’m going to give in and medicate soon, don’t you worry. That being said, I’m sleepy and coughing up a lung so I’m going to try to keep this one on the shorter side. What??? Two weeks in a row?? I’m sorry, but I promise there will be a nice, fun post next week. Adrienne contacted me and wanted a dresser set for her…

Majestic Blue Buffet Makeover – Tuesday’s Treasures

Another Tuesday’s Treasures today? What!! We’ve had so many fun pieces and I am having a hard time narowing everything down to just one piece a week. This cute little cabinet was given to us when we went to buy a different piece from someone. Our church is making a cry room which is a room where families with little kids who don’t want to be in nursery for some reason can go to listen to the sermon and keep their kids with them. So, my friend Kim and I went to work picking color and decor…

Aqua Vanity by FunCycled

Grandma’s Vanity for a Playground

If you are sentimental like I am, you’ll understand my struggle with this next story. See this vanity? Well, it was my grandmother’s and I remember as a child looking at it and loving everything about it. There is something about it that is princess-like or so I thought when I was little and loved all things “princess”. Doesn’t every 5 year old girl want to be a princess?? Well, it’s been sitting in my barn for quite some time only because I couldn’t fit it in any room in my house. If you…

Antique Desk Makeover – Tuesday’s Treasures

So, who remembers this desk from our Upcoming Projects page? The leg was broken, but we had all the pieces to bring it back to life. :) It’s a beautiful piece, right? I fell in love with it right away and was so excited when John told me the leg was fixable. Jennifer noticed it on our upcoming projects page and asked me to redo it for her. I was so excited to hear that she wanted it in teal and dark brown. John had to take the base apart, add new dowels and glue everything back together. We…

French Provincial Vanity Makeover

Hi Friends~ I’m having a fun time over here making some really beautiful new pieces. Since it’s keeping me busy, I haven’t had to post all of the ones I love. So I’m sharing a quick before and after with you this Thursday without all of the bells and whistles. A picture’s worth 1,000 words anyway, right?? I bought this French Provincial style vanity…Ann noticed it on our Upcoming Projects Page and asked me to save it for her. We chatted about colors and decided to go with Benjamin Moore’s…

Makeover Monday: Azores Dresser - Migonis Home

This post has received a lot of traffic via Pinterest… keep in mind when choosing this color that it is actually darker and more gray than it photographed because of the lighting. It was still gorgeous when done but not quite as “minty”. I have been DYING to share this post with you… AJ found …

Caned Barrel Back Chair Makeover – Tuesday’s Treasures

Hey everyone! It’s been such a crazy week here with almost all of my projects being more complicated than I anticipated. You’ve probably seen on our Facebook page that 1/2 of my projects kept bleeding through this week. Which means, the stain color of the original wood kept bleeding into the new paint colors. I even painted one piece with different primers and paint 6 times. I normally can conquer bleed through pretty easily. but not this week. That’s being said, I wanted to show you a fun…

Delicious Brown and Teal Dresser Set – Tuesday’s Treasures

Happy Tuesday’s Treasures!! I hope you all stayed warm and out of the gelid weather last week. My only crazy moment was trying to sand down an old table top in our unheated barn on the day that only reached 6 degrees for the high. After45 minutes, when I could no longer feel my hands, I decided to give it up. Why didn’t I start the wood stove?? Why oh why? lol Boy oh boy am I excited to share this one with you. I bought this dresser set last summer and wanted to refinish it to put on the for…

Warm Teal and Aged Wood Desk from FunCycled

Warm Teal and Aged Wood Desk and Chair Set

Happy Tuesday everyone! This Tuesday’s Treasures is a piece that I would love to keep for myself, if I had room. Thankfully, I own a small house so I can’t fit much more of anything in it. :) I just put it on our Furniture For Sale page so if you are interested- please check that page to see if it’s still available. I started with this table that I bought over the summer. The man we bought it from said that it was in his family for a long, long time. It was made from two leaves off of an old…

Tuesday’s Treasures – Vintage Teal Hutch and Red French Provincial Dresser

Hello Friends! This week’s Tuesday’s Treasures brings you another piece that went to my friend Tiffany… this baby was what started the entire process and led to Dining Room Chairs, that led to a Red Chandelier, that led to a vintage window turned photo frame, that led to an Eden Green Damask chair, that led to a Yellow Coffee Table. Here’s the before and after for you. I primed this hutch and painted it using Valspar’s Vintage Teal in satin. Please see our post on How To Paint Furniture for…

Tuesday’s Treasures – Antique Aqua Desk

Hello to our new fans and to all those we met at the Troy River Street Festival this past weekend. I hope you had a great time at the festival, I know we did! It was so much fun working next to Tim from Mr. Doodles, meeting our previous Mayor Harry Tutunjian, getting to know some of you for the first time, and seeing friends from the past (including my old art teacher’s son). On to this week’s Tuesday’s Treasures… our beautiful Aqua and Milk Chocolate Antique Desk. (click on any photo to…

Tuesday’s Treasures Aqua Dresser with Mirror

This week’s Tuesday’s Treasure started in shambles – read through and you’ll see what this beauty was to begin with. Here’s what she looked like before. I really couldn’t even do a before picture of the mirror because it was broken into about 20 different pieces. Anyway, here is the bottom part. You can’t see it well in this picture, but there was quite a bit of damage to the top of this dresser. We had to repair it using Bondo and lots of clamps. We then primed and painted it. You can see…
