I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum. HG, as it is often abbreviated, is a rare and dangerous illness that has no known cause, no cure, and no consistently successful treatment. The doctors who know of it attempt to control it with the same medication given to cancer patients, and even the maximum doses often only ease the misery. The doctors who don’t know of it tell their patients that is a mental illness.
