The House That Moved. A 15th century half timber house, located in a part of Exeter's old town became a worldwide news story when it was moved, literally, to make room for a new by-pass in 1961. The house was uprooted from its foundations, encased in a wooden structure and moved 70 meters further down the road on castors to where it now stands, no worse for the wear. Now a bridal boutique. - #15th #Boutique #bridal #bypass #castors #century #encased #Exeters #foundations #house #literally #lo
