YouTube – YouTube proved to be a good source throughout our research and planning stages. I was able to watch and analyse successful musiv videos enabling us as a group to visualize and take inspirations, which we could possibly use, in our own final product. Not only did we use this for the research and planning stage but we also used this to upload our draft and final music video on as it is easily accessibly and user friendly, this also enabled us to receive feedback.

Final Cut Pro – Final Cut Pro was used in the post-production stages of our music video. We used this to create both the draft and final versions of our music video. Photoshop – When creating the ancillary products, I decided to use Photoshop as the basis. This allowed me to create a professional looking digipak and advert through being able to develop ideas using the features in which the software for us e.g. colours, effects, fonts etc. I was able to dafont.com to download my own fonts which I thought would be suitable to use on these products as this enabled me to create a more intricate look overall.

Tumblr – Tumblr was used profusely, and mainly used for the styling of our band members. It allowed us to visit the styling of indie/wonky pop listeners so that we were able to ensure our band members wore the perfect attire, which would appeal to our target audience ensuring that our music video was successful.

Animoto - We used animoto to pitch our original ideas to our class so that we could collect feedback from our peers, which would enable us to recap over these ideas in order to develop a better final product. This free website allowed us to create a professional looking video allowing us to add in images and background music to publish as a proficient looking slide show, rather than using a simple software application such as PowerPoint.

iPhone – Having an iPhone really helped throughout all stages preparing and making our music video. It allowed myself, Christie and Megan to keep in contact with each other outside of school hours using a range of phone calls and text messages, this provided us with the organisation in which we required when it came to deciding when and where we were to film, ensuring we picked a day all three group members were available.

PRODUCTION / POST PRODUCTION: Using my phone was vital when filming and trying to plan days when we were both available to film. We were able to communicate and organise much more efficiently.

Scribd – My work was displayed in an organised format so that this would help when it came to both our teacher and peers commenting on blog posts I had made. When working at home, I would use the default word processing software, which was available at home on my MacBook, that being “pages”, whereas at school I would use Microsoft Word. Scribd would allow me to display the two different word processing software in the same format, presenting my work on the blog consistently throughout.

Once being introduced to Scribd, I was able to confidently display my slides, presentations and images in an interactive way that was simple and attractive to the eye.

Word - I used Microsoft Word to create work such as mind maps/ mood boards, which helped produce work to identify key features within digipaks/adverts I was inspired by. Doing this helped me recognise which features I could use in my own ancillary products to make it instructive and unique.
