The entire place is full of light and charm, but the apartment’s living and dining space, called the “blue room,” is a particular jewel: It features Art Deco cornices, a tiered mirror above the original fireplace and a large framed window.

The 30s and 40s were eclectic times for design because you have Victorian holdouts like fine hand crafted laces coupled with newer mass manufacturing methods using ceramic, plastics, etc. You're left with an eerie mix of rich woods and pops of manufactured looking plastic-y colors.
