Säynätsalo Town Hall was built in the early 1950s to serve as a town hall for a municipal of only 3,000 residents. Today, the building is open to visitors and offers guest rooms for an overnight stay.

Today we would like to take a moment to highlight ⁠ ⁠ 'Curia' - Alvar Aalto⁠ ⁠ The invitational competition for Säynätsalo Town Hall was held in 1949. Aalto won the competition with an entry marked ‘Curia’ and was immediately commissioned to prepare working drawings. Completed in 1952, the building is one of Aalto’s most admired designs.

Paimio Sanatorium (1932) Alvar Aalto, Paimio, Finland. Aalto received the commission to design the building after winning an architectural competition for the project held in 1929.
