Kelly Twigg | Artisan Jewellery on Instagram: "My favourite DIY sanding tool for bigger bezel settings! ⚒️ I like using sanding sticks to file and smooth out the wire for my bezel settings (240 grit is my favourite) but it doesn’t work with larger pieces. I’ve tried just using sandpaper flat on the bench, but not only is there rarely enough free space to do that, it moves about too much and I can’t get a good enough view. I then tried wrapping some around a cork sanding block, but the paper wouldn’t sit flat enough. So this is the solution I settled on! 🙂 Self-adhesive 6” sanding discs in 80/120/180/320 and 400 grits, simply stuck on acrylic circles that were already pre-cut to the same size. They’re compact, but strong and rigid, give a super flat surface and can be moved around.
