🚗 Dirt road to trailhead, high clearance & 4x4 not required.

🥾 2.7 miles RT, 870’ of elevation.
❄️ Micro spikes recommended this time of year.
🛖 Fire tower is only open when staffed.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado is a breathtaking natural wonder, known for its dramatic, sheer cliffs that were carved by the Gunnison River over millions of years.

During your visit, you can explore several scenic viewpoints along the South Rim Road and enjoy numerous hiking trails.
