Been thinking about some more rock climbers that live in a desert fantasy world, where climbing is augmented by magic and spirits. This character has been tasked to return this book of forbidden climbing techniques to its rightful place high in the mountains before the dangerous knowledge consumes her and other climbers around her. The cloud holding the book is a chalk spirit companion that guides climbers up cliff faces, pointing out hand holds and cheering them on.
