Scott forged this GHF Razorback over coal at the Harnett County Regional Fair in Lillington, NC back in May and just got around to heat treating and finishing it inbetween commissions. It's made of 5160 tool steel, has a hammer-marked finish, sharpened clip, and flame-grain walnut handle with nickel-silver pins. These are an example of what some refer to as a blacksmith's knife or a Viking style knife. Simple and elegant, I forge these individually from a single bar of 1084 high carbon steel. Fully hardened and tempered for the perfect balance between hardness, toughness and excellent edge retention. I can do these from other combinations of steel as well, including san mai and damascus.
