1015 N. Michigan Ave. on the east side, north of R. B. McPherson’s house is the Ballard House. This was the summer home of the Ballards who lived in Detroit during the winter. They were vaudeville actors. To the north of this house is a pond known as "Ballards Pond". The south side of this pond is very steep and when the pond was frozen and the snow came, what a place for all us kids that lived near by to slide down hill and to ice skate on the pond. (AKA the Greenaway/Erwin house.) Winter, Nice, Architecture, Summer, Victorian Houses, Mansions, Michigan, Old Houses, Livingston County
