16 October is the feast of St Margaret Mary Alacoque, a 17th-century sister who joined the Visitation Sisters at Paray-le-Monial. She made rapid progress along the way of perfection and was given mystical visions, as a result of which she worked hard to institute devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Church. This fresco is in the church of Madonna del Sacro Cuore, which is off the Piazza Navona in Rome.
