I worked quite a bit with this cow and calf in June. The calf liked to nuzzle its mom and I was able to get quite a few shots of it doing that. It was raining when I took the picture. The rain streaks show up in the darker top part of the picture. We have had a VERY rainy summer. I few clear days would be nice. The light was very even that day. This was a very early morning shot.

I went hiking both Saturday and Sunday looking for moose or whatever I could find. I saw 12 moose Saturday and 13 moose Sunday. I worked some with this guy. He was pretty calm. So, I decided to try to get some shots of him walking into the camera. I got quite a few. He would get up to about 15-20 feet from me and then I would back off. He seemed fine with it. Didn't get aggressive. I wouldn't even think of trying it in about two weeks, after the rut starts. I had to go out an hour before…
