The Odeon opened in July 1934, became the Regal Cinema in 1971, and closed in 1974. It was then converted into the Regal Bingo Club, later becoming the Crown Bingo Club. The Odeon cinema company was founded in 1930 by Oscar Deutsch. During the 1930s, it grew to become one of the country’s major chains of cinemas.
